Kissing Summer Good-Bye From Ocean City, Maryland

We (my little family and I) spent Labor Day weekend in Ocean City, Maryland and the state park beaches nearby.  Despite the threat of Hurricane Isaac’s steamy sogginess, we reveled in three lovely days of sand and surf.

{ A family tradition: cheeseburger subs, real vanilla Cokes, and milkshakes. }

{ We stayed at The Dunes Motel, mostly for the view. }

{ A morning stroll on the boardwalk in search of coffee (for Jay) and a cinnamon roll (for me). }

{ More boardwalk. }

{ The beach in front of our motel.  Sparse crowds for a holiday weekend. }

{ Pretty colors. }

{ So, this is where everyone is hanging out. }

{ Waiting for the next perfect wave. }

{ View from our balcony – late morning. }

{ Same view – late afternoon. }

{  Photo of the boardwalk taken from our table at Harrison’s Harbor Watch, another tradition. }

{ Fenwick Island State Beach. }

{ The crowds were simply unbearable. }

{ Ahhhh…..my happy place. }

{ A band of Isaac’s gloom rolls in. }

{ A fellow beach lover. }

{ Heading home in the rain. }

    • You’re welcome. I’ve been visiting the Delaware and Maryland beaches since I was a little girl. Heading to Ocean City is always a wonderful trip down memory lane for me. Thanks for taking a peek.
